Description: |
Mostly annual or sometimes biennial, shrubby herb, 0.5-2 m high, branching above. Stems and branches smooth, appressed pubescent. Leaves pinnate, usually with 6-10 pairs of leaflets; leaflets oblanceolate, elliptic to linear-elliptic, 3-8 cm long, sometimes emarginate at the apex, hairless above, shortly appressed-pubescent beneath; stipules up to 16 mm long, linear, often falcate. Racemes terminal and axillary, 10-30 cm long. Calyx 3.5-8 mm long, densely and shortly appressed-pubescent. Flowers 12-18 mm long, purple or reddish; standard truncate to cordate at the base. Pods 35-80 mm long, pale straw-coloured, more or less hairless. |
