| Description: |
Procumbent herb with a stout perennial taproot. Leaflets 4-7, oblanceolate or cuneate-obovate, about 10 mm. long and 4 mm. wide, strigulose or glabrous above. Inflorescence not more than 1.5 cm. long, almost sessile. Stamens 2.5-3 mm., about as long as calyx. This species generally resembles certain forms of I. spicata except for the fruits which are brown, subtorulose, spirally coiled, almost indehiscent, 15-20 mm. long, about 1.4 mm. wide and 1.8 mm. thick; endocarp spotted. |
