Description: |
Annual or short-lived perennial; roots shallow, white and brown; stems 3-10, tufted, terete, hollow or filled with pith, articulate with clear transverse septa, up to 80 cm long; or 120 cm including the inflorescence bract. Leaves reduced to sheaths. Inflorescence a dense head of up to 25 spikelets. |
